Love & Wine
February has been off to a stormy start. We love the rain, but miss our visitors. The month seems to be over almost before it starts and it is even one day longer this year.
Filled with holidays, from the Lunar New Year, Fat Tuesday’s Mardi Gras, Valentine’s Day, and Presidents Day, it is a month of celebrations, appreciation, and joy.
In the vineyard, we wait until it is dry enough to prune - an act done in anticipation of the growth and renewal of the coming vintage. Happy to wait while we plan.
Planning the next bottling, the Spring Country Club Release, and all the upcoming celebrations. Always an exciting time. We love sharing our wines, food, and history.
A favorite quote, often misattributed to Pope Francis, comes to mind. It exists in various forms throughout history. Here is my favorite version:
“Rivers do not drink their own water: trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We are all born to help each other. No matter how difficult it is… life is good when you are happy, but much better when others are happy because of you."
I hope that in some little way, you are happier because of Dubost. We most certainly are because of you.
Love,
Kate Dubost
