2019 Jacob's Ladder

2019 was a classic vintage for Paso Robles, a slightly mild growing season led to warm temperatures in the final quarter of the season. This shows well in the co-fermented blend of Dubost Estate fruit. Growing conditions allowed all the fruit to be harvested together, showing both vegetal pepper and luscious fruit. A blend of both whole cluster fruit and whole berry, it shows all of what this vineyard, on which we have spent so many hours, is capable. A recent Double Gold Medal and Best of Class winner at the Orange County Wine Society Competition, the states biggest wine competition, it was listed in the top 5 out of 1800 entries.

Other Notes
“Tasted blind. Deep opaque purple. Savoury and citrusy – it still has all the black and blue fruit but also has dried lemon peel, citronella, sagebrush and lavender aromas. Rich, plummy, sweet fruit on the palate with moderate acidity...” - Jancis Robinson
